The life of an art collector as experienced at the 'node hotel'.

"node hotel" is based on the concept of an "art collector's home".

"I want to live with art", "I want to have my own collection one day".

This hotel is recommended for those with such aspirations.

Aiming for a life where art is close to home

node hotel opened in 2019 in Kyoto's Shijo-Karasuma area, where artworks make their presence felt under the spotlight in a sophisticated, concrete-floored space.

The hotel features 25 chic, modern rooms, ranging from compact single rooms to junior suites of over 50 m², depending on your purpose. The hotel also offers a carefully hand-crafted breakfast, and a dinner that ranges from a pre-meal aperitif to a course meal.

The location of the hotel is also not to be missed. The Shijo-Karasuma area is a thriving area for art activities. Art spots known to those in the know, such as the Kyoto Art Centre, the Kyoto Culture Museum and the Kyoto International Manga Museum, are scattered within walking distance.

The hotel's interior is decorated with numerous contemporary artworks collected from galleries and art fairs around the world that blend seamlessly into everyday life.

The works of masters such as Gerhard Richter and Kiki Smith, as well as Japan's leading contemporary artists such as Shinro Ohtake and Hiroshi Sugimoto, and up-and-coming artists, are displayed in an unobtrusive manner. This space, which emphasizes the harmony between the world of the artworks and the authentic interior, will make your trip a different experience.

In the gallery space on the first floor, exhibitions are held every one to two months, and you can not only view but also purchase artwork. The gallery space on the first floor also hosts events based on diverse cultures such as art, design, fashion, music, and food, as well as collaborative projects with artists, so be sure to check them out during your stay.

Spending time in the midst of numerous works of art may bring you unexpected inspiration. Would you like to experience a life with art at node hotel?
